A New Year’s Resolution – The Love Dare
Beginning January 1st, 2010, 100huntley.com presents a New Year’s resolution — The Love Dare — a 40-day journey, based on the movie Fireproof. It’s a chance to lean your heart toward your spouse, enrich your marriage or, earn back the love you thought you lost — a chance to fully love!
Three couples have agreed to take our 40-day challenge and record their journey online. Each couple will blog and post videos, as they work through The Love Dare book and are encouraged by your comments and remarks.
But wait, there’s more! We want YOU to take The Love Dare and tell us your thoughts and insights as you work through the challenge. To join in the fun, request your copy of the book. Then, starting January 1st, follow along with us here as we seek comments, remarks and feedback to each day’s dare.

I just heard about the love dare and challenged all my married friends to join my husband and I as we take the dare too. Count us in.

We are looking forward to taking this journey with you. We have been married 22 years, together for 26. We are born again Christians in around 2000. We are looking for a place to “sign up.” Is that how it works? We have the book and will check in here briefly each night.

Hey Bill & Pam,
Yeah check in and see how we are all doing… But you need to keep us posted as well on your journey through this.

We’re having an easy time. We’ve found the dares easy to accomplish so far. I’m just about to call my wife and maybe catch her at recess (Pam’s a teacher, I’m home on a disability pension) This is not something I normally do but I think she’ll appreciate the call. We are not sure how this website works. Are we speaking directly to you, Chris and Lisa, here? Do we have to go to the other couples’ pages to interact with them?

Hi Bill,
It’s Chris… Right now you are on an open Love Dare blog, all the couples can comment and take part. If you want to talk directly to a certain couple click on their name at the top of the page and it will take you directly to their page and you can talk to them specifically…
I hope your wife appreciated the phone call…

OK, Thanks Chris,
I think trying to navigate the book and my wife will be enough of a challenge for me! I don’t find this site easy to use…It’s probably just me. I didn’t manage to get through to Pam on the phone today but was able to leave messages on her voice mail (twice) which was probably more of an annoyance for her in her busy day. Pam phoned me when her classes let out but then I was right in the middle of a lesson (I teach guitar from home) so I had to make the call short. We’re at a place in our lives where a call in the middle of a work day is not really needed…but that’s cool. We did it anyway ’cause it’s part of the program! I hope everyone is having a good time with this! God bless y’all. Bill

My husband and I have been married to each other for 18 years. We are a few days late beginning this interesting project as we did not find out about it until January 5th or 6th. So, we have decided to double up on Day one and two and will double up on Day 3/4 until we get caught up with the rest of the couples that are taking the Love Dare. We have chosen to take up the Love Dare to enhance our marriage and fine tune it as we continue to grow together (notice I did not use the words “grow old”).
Today I received an unexptected and loving e-mail from my husband which I am printing out and pasting into my “grateful” journal I have started this year as well. I am excited to continue with the Love Dare.

Hi! Ive started the love dare on my own. I tried to explain it to my husband that I would love to do this with him. But I’m doing it on my own and it has been working very well for some reason! And I’m going to share this on my facebook to family and friends!
