The Love Dare–Day 18

We had a lot of fun making dinner together with cameraman Kirk capturing it all on video…you’ll see some footage on 100 Huntley St. sometime soon. We talked about our childhood–an area we haven’t really shared with each other much over the years and learned some interesting facts along the way! We hope this clip is a blessing to you. Caution: You might end up really hungry for fine food after watching it…don’t say I didn’t warn ya :-)

My husband did appreciate the meal I prepared but it wasn’t anything unusual because I always prepare a meal. We also were not alone because our children ate with us. I thought I might get some alone time to share with him after the girls went to bed but that didn’t work out either. Maybe it’s because I went to him while he was watching TV (not the best time) and waited till a commercial (which only gave me a few minutes) to ask him about his dreams for the future – he just laughed. I wouldn’t recommend this approach and I think I’ll have to keep this dare on the shelf for a more opportune time.
I did manage to accomplish some of the other dares over the weekend. I spent an afternoon driving around with my husband because he wanted company while he was about his business. I also went out and bought his favorite ice cream (which he eats daily for dessert) when we ran out.
I also had an answer to my prayers for him. He had been feeling insecure at his new job because he had made some mistakes and was doubting his abilities. That’s why I was praying for God to give him confidence in his skills and wisdom at work. Yesterday he came home and said that he had performed really well and for some reason had felt very confident about being able to accomplish the tasks given to him.

WOW – I am so impressed with the two of you and how you worked together to prepare such a wonderful meal ….l can’t begin to tell you how much I look forward to these videos of the two of you – your love for each other shines through!! The Seafood Casserole looks delicious – Tom is not a picky eater at all but he will not eat a casserole of any kind – he does often ask me if I need help preparing dinner but I know he is just being polite….he is a very handy type of man and can fix anything – except dinner!! :)
