I find I need to spend my quiet time with God in the morning (first thing) before the busyness of the day pushes Him to the back seat. This a.m. I read more from the Bible than my usual morning study - once I got started I didn't want to stop. I also was devoting the early morning 7-9:30 to praise and worship music as I would be participating in a group study in my home and really wanted God here. Wow! He does not disappoint when you call upon Him. I know He is a bigger part of my day when I fast. There is something about giving up and I think that it is giving in along with obedience when you fast. There is a calmness that comes over me. Tonight, Dave and I will be making our special dinner and he already has the recipe for a special potato dish. I am marinating the lamb chops and can't wait for our time together. I do think prayer is powerful and even believe that couples that pray together usually stay together. It is challenging for us as I like to pray often and spend time reading Gods word and my husband is not as close to the Lord usually. We may be getting some counsel from our paster and i also see another counsellor who my husband wont go back to. Im have been off work for medical reasons and now am trying to find work. Finances has compounded problems already present in our marriage. Thankyou for taking the time to encourage me and other couples and say your praying. I really could sense yesterday am a strong sense that someone was praying! I know this is on the internet if you ever want to chat further Wendy or Kevin please feel free to call at 9055732924.
