My husband would also have said in the past that I can be controlling – however, over the 12 years of our marriage, we realize – or are still realizing at times – that we are each strong in certain areas and respect that these are strengths in our marriage. For example: Michael is very computer literate, mechanical, math; he’s an engineer so everything in this realm – I rely on his expertise – and he in turn looks to me for my strengths in organizing, creativity, cuisine, planning etc… I think before we use to see our strengths as “controlling” but now realize these are our strengths and they support our marriage. Just a thought for you two ….

Thanks for the encouragement… Lisa and I are still so new at this that we certainly love it when someone with plenty of experience can help us out…. I don’t know if we have it all together or not, but I do know that we both love each other unconditionally and love spending our time together! We like to give each other a hard time and poke fun at each other (it keeps us on our toes) but this is a great experience for us to hopefully grow together…. I saw your interview and you folks seem to have it all together. Always remember you’re in a partnership and it’s a 2 way street. Talk to one another and work together as a team. My wife and I did for 40 years before I lost her and we really didn’t have too many problems. Lord only knows it wasn’t all peaches and cream but we made it. Be best friends with one another. Chris if you have a problem talk to Lisa and Lisa if you have a problem talk to Chris. Believe me it worked for us. Good luck to both of you. You deserve it.

Thanks for your comment, I can see how you might think that but let me assure you that the way you see it is in fact not the case! When Lisa and I decided to take part in the Love Dare we decided that we would be completely honest and completely “us”.

We understand that our sense of humour will not be for everyone and that some may relate to us while others will not! One of the things that I love most about my marriage to Lisa is that we are very secure in who we are and we can laugh at ourselves and each other. Being able to laugh through moments helps us to grow closer together…
