Jai Budhanlal works in the community of Montreal Lake and Little Red River in Northern Saskatchewan. She says it’s important to empower youth to be independent, to be able to
experience life beyond the reserve, thinking about how they can get better education. Last Christmas her partnership with Crossroads brought joy to a community still reeling from a stabbing rampage in James Smith Cree Nation that killed 11 and left many more traumatized. 640 Christmas bags were put together after Birch Narrows partnered with James Smith Cree Nation.
