Medical Assistance in Dying (M.A.i.D) : Have We Gone Too Far? | Chantal Huinink
A personal point of view on M.A.i.D – Chantal Huinink was 10 when Tracy Latimer was killed by her father in an act he said was motivated by “compassion”. Like Chantal, Tracy had cerebral palsy and Chantal suddenly felt acutely aware of how society viewed her. But she never thought it would be legal. Now, people living with disabilities can access MAID and are often doing so because they can’t receive the proper support to live. “we are all created in God’s image and He determines the day that we’re born and the day that we’re going to die and the people that we’re going to interact with in between.”
