Reflections on a Career in Pastoral Ministry | Major Harry Lacey

Commissioned in 1970 with the Undaunted session, Salvation Army Major Harry Lacey served as a congregational pastor for over 47 years of before retiring in 2017. 25 of those years were spent the Canada and Bermuda Territory and the balance in Yuma and Phoenix, AZ. Currently, Major Lacey is the pastoral care officer in the Officer Care and Development Department at the Western Territory Headquarters. Reflecting on the years of his journey so far, his most valued takeaways are:
“I am most proud of serving as a corps officer,” he said. “The opportunity to be the shepherd of God’s people, teaching and preaching the Word and establishing relationships through pastoral ministry has proven an enriching spiritual experience.”
