The Ottawa Mission | Huntley on the Road – Ottawa
The Ottawa Mission is in the heart of the nation’s capital, serving the unhoused since 1906. The mission was started by a group of Christian businesspeople who saw a need for shelter and a warm meal for a growing population experiencing homelessness. Through world wars, drug epidemics, and affordable housing crisis, The Ottawa Mission has served the needs of the community. One area that is underserved for people experiencing homelessness is end of life care. In 2001, a hospice was created to meet the needs of those in palliative care with no place to call home.
